"Athletics Norfolk are organising Officials courses for FREE for all members/volunteers of Athletics Norfolk affiliated Clubs on Saturday 30th November at Sportspark, Norwich. The health and safety element of the course is now completed through an online module.
It has been scheduled on the morning of a Norfolk Sportshall match which is also being held at Sportspark from 1pm, meaning that the officials who attend the course in the morning will be able to pick up their first logged experience that afternoon.
Courses:
Field 9am-2pm (roles and responsibilities of a field official, including how to follow a duty sheet, complete a results card, application of the rules in field events and how to provide a safe environment for athletes to compete).
Timekeeper 9.30am-12.30pm (roles and responsibilities of a timekeeper, including appropriate equipment to use, and how to correctly record and report race times).
Track - 9.30am-12.30pm (roles and responsibilities of track judge, including recording and reporting infringements, knowledge of track markings and judging lane lines and the finish).
