East Anglian League Finals update.

Updated: Aug 11, 2019

The final results are in and we are delighted to confirm FIVE teams are through to the final on 8th September. These are the U13, U15 and U17 girls teams, along with our Senior Womens team and the U17 men. All our teams have worked hard this year, including those who were not fortunate to make the final, so a big thank you to all our athletes who have shown so much dedication to their sport.

Also a big thank you to our Team Mangers, Claire Fielding, who has looked after our talented U11 squad, Duncan Harrison, our Boys Team Manager with the help of Craig Bean, Lesley Greenwood the U17 girls Team Manager and finally Andrew Willeard the U13, U15 girls and Senior Women team manager. He had the unenviable task in the last round of trying to figure out how to get the U15 girls through to the final when they were in danger of failing to qualifying. After much deliberation and several permutations and with the help of Allyna and Gracie (who did themselves proud),from the U13 team becoming U15s for the day, helped our girls score enough points to qualify. We wouldn't be able to do this without the dedication of all our coaches, officials and volunteers who give up so much of their time to train and look after our athletes and keep the club running, so a huge thank you to them too. Also thank you all the parents who drive our athletes to and from fixtures, standing in all weathers giving their support.

And finally a big thank you and congratulations from John Barwick our club chairman to all our athletes and everyone involved with our EAL teams.

As previously mentioned the EAL final is on 8th September at Bury St Edmunds. The managers of all the qualifying teams will shortly be sending out emails seeking confirmation of athletes availability for the final, so keep an eye out in your inbox, the final always provides a great atmosphere and our GYDAC teams always seems to be the team that can shout the loudest as they support their fellow teammates.  Thank you once again Team GYDAC
